Last but not Least

The "cathedra" that I spoke of is above and made out of wood.

It was raining, which allowed for this nice reflection.

Alas, back in good old Southampton. A clocktower shows the way.

And off in the distance, you can make out 3 distinct colorations of the library, clocktower, and random guy statue.

Good night! (4am)

Cathedral O Rama!

The Salisbury Cathedral gets its name from the latin "cathedra" meaning chair and all cathedrals hold a chair for the Bishop of the area.

Angle!

Europe's oldest working clock (1386). Still rings bells on the hour.

Cathederal Overload!

Warning: You are going to see a lot of Cathedral shots now. This due to the following:

1. They actually allow pictures!
2. The architecture was interesting.
3. I am getting creative with low lighting and how to develop makeshift tripods.

Exterior from the garden.

Hallway ground shot.

Crystal Prism etched to look like the building that is kept in. How recursive.

Mmmmmm....

Hop on the Bus Gus

As soon as I got into Salisbury, I found out that the last bus for Stonehenge left in 1 minute. And not only that, but it was the last bus to leave Stonehenge as well so I would only have 10 minutes over there. I still took it. Everything closes so early in this country :)

Your cliche Stonehenge shot. Are you happy?

I quickly returned to Salisbury where I had a couple hours to kill before the bus back to Southampton.

Salisbury Guild Hall all decked out.

I decided to walk over to this Cathedral that people were mentioning. This is my artsy walking shot :)

Of course, people were restoring it. One thing about old buildings that I have found: they sure take a lot of maintenance.

Salisbury and Beyond

A lot happened today and there will be many pictures as well. I took a bus to Salisbury and then another bus to Stonehenge, which is highly overrated. I then made it back home in time to go out for a dinner with a goup of people from the university. Let the pictures commence.

On my way walking to the Southampton Bus Station I passed by a very appealing house. I consequently learned that this is a euphemism for place where Quakers meet.

I then got lost because I didn't realize that I wanted the Coach Station, not the Bus Station. They all look like buses to me...

Fortunately this helpful sign was along the way to help me know where to walk toward all the dead soccer balls that go to heaven.

And to wait for my Salisbury bus... I mean coach... I went into a department store and noticed all sorts of things I never knew I wanted.

And I hit the road.
