At last some exercise

Even better, I got a chance to play soccer with the Southampton guys. It was a blast. More shots of the University below...


It's like a cell phone that has been attached to a long cord and is encased in a glass room. Very weird.

It was a relatively nice day.

Presenting the Presenter

So I stayed up til 4am last night and was able to still function today. I got to see the University of Southampton for the first time. I made presentation and I learned a very important rule: if you are going to give a talk and they hook you up with a portable mic and then you have to go to the bathroom, switch off the mic first ;) I had a close call.

I was happy to see this listed as one of the rooms on the directory of the building.

It was kind of colorful inside, but a lot of security doors. Even ones to get out.

When I was walking around, the sundial made it clear that it was 3:15 and I had to go back in for a meeting.

Sleepless in Southampton

Spiros and Jitka were kind of enough to drive me to Southampton under the strict condition that they we make a detour stop and Portsmouth for Steki Taverna, which was a great Greek restaurant. I found Alessandro just in time to join him at a blues bar.

I came back and spent a few hours battling a wireless router, but alas I am victorious! Otherwise I wouldn't have been able to post ;)


We decided to take them up on their offer.

Crystal Palace - Home of the Eagles

I am staying in an area of London called Crystal Palace. I learned two things today:

1. Playing too much Nintendo DS can give you a headache.
2. Crystal Palace has a respectable football club.

Crystal Palace Radio Tower strikes again.

Some call this the antler of an ice age creature Megaloceros. I call it modern art.

This is Megalosaurus, but back then they thought he would walk on all fours.
