Dead Ends....

Today was a long day. There is just no other way to put it. It was the first day I have been here that I have gotten up after 7am. After sleeping in, Janusz, Praveen, Pradeep and I set out for Mt. Fuji. We tried to travel as much as possible on JR (japan rail) lines because we have this JR East pass. Consequently, we found a JR line near our place in Ginza. We took it to Shinjuku, then exited for some food. We found this great place that was quick, cheap, and lots of food. Then we came back to find that we missed the express to Otsuki. So we had an hour to waste and Praveen went search for PSP prices. In case you were interested, it's the same as in the US. Then we took the express to Otsuki and then had to take a private train to Kawaguchiko. There is a lake there and a great view of Mt. Fuji. Except that, it was really cloudy today and you could only see where it might be, if the clouds weren't in the way. We took a cable car up to get a better look at the clouds and make sure no Fuji was visible. We of course had problems coming back and were late to meet back up with Jon, but everything ended up fine.

Then we wanted to really hit the town, you know, Tokyo style. We heard that this Roppongi section had lots of tourists and was really cool. So we took the subway and ate at McDonalds. I had a Teriyaki Burger. Then we proceeded to randomly walk around and have people bug us for strip clubs and massages. We couldn't find a single bar that was open and had a single person in it, so we just took the subway back home. I should pause now and correct myself. It's not subway; it's metro. Okay, so that left me with enough time to come back and post tonight and there you have it. I am here. Right now. Writing...you know...this!
